When a party of friends decides to take a spring break or summer vacation, there are many locations to choose from.  Even if the selection is narrowed down to Mexico, locations like Cancun or Tijuana are usually the most picked locations .  However, a location picking up in popularity is Los Cabos .  The reason why this location is not often thought of is because it is considered a family vacation spot rather than spring breakers destination.  However, there are plenty of things to do here that are ideal for young travelers.  With the acquisition of one of the fine Cabo real estate, you are sure to have a blast .

Your options fit into a variety of categories.  Everything from soaking sun at the pool’s edge to exciting water sports and ATV rides, there is not much that Cabo does not have.  Most likely the enjoyment of the day will not cease until sunrise due to the diverse selection of nightlife activities that abound here.  Another draw is that most businesses accept US dollars , so there is no need to do math on conversion rates.  Eliminating stress and letting your hair down is what vacationing in one of Cabo San Lucas villas is all about.

What types of beaches are you and your friends looking for in Cabo ?   Of course, since this is a prime vacation spot, there will be crowded beaches, but this can be a great place to watch others surf, snorkel, scuba dive, and of course get in on the action yourself.  Secluded beaches can be found near many Cabo villas as well that allow you to rent boat rides, go parasailing, jet skiing and more .  Any water activity you can think of is available in Cabo San Lucas.

If you are tired of the beaches there are many indoor activities available to get you out of the sun.  Restaurants are abundant in Los Cabos that offer authentic Mexican food at not an arm and a leg prices.  Unique shops are open for your exploration as well, including glass blowing, bead making and other local trades.  While you are experiencing the peninsula, and if you like to smoke tobacco make sure to get your hands on some Cuban cigars!!!  These are sold at duty-free prices, meaning you will never get a quality cigar for a lower price anywhere else.  With all of these opportunities, it is a surprise why more young people do not rent Cabo San Lucas real estate for a spring break or summer vacation together.

The Differences Between CDs and DVDs Are Microscopic

CDs and DVDs possess the same shape and size but that is where the similarities end. The differences lie in the make up of the surface of the disc which are invisible to the naked eye.  There are many different things between the two, such as what they hold and how much they can hold.

When you discover how the data storage is implemented on both CDs and DVDs you will understand how the big difference in capacities is achieved.  As the disc spins a laser is moved across the surface to burn pits in a spiral groove around the disc. A laser is an intensely focused beam of light and all lasers operate on a particular wave length. A smaller wave length will create a smaller pit. Consequently you can have more pits in the same amount of surface area on a DVD, which explains the large difference in storage capacity.

CDs and DVDs store everything, including audio and video, as a series of ones and zeros which means they are digital data storage mediums. Pits and lands (no pits) burned onto the surface of the disc are what make up the ones and zeros. The laser light will reflect off the lands but not off the pits when the disc is being read. Microprocessors in the disc drive take the information from the laser and convert it into a digital format that your computer can easily understand.

The tracks of a DVD are narrower as well, which allows for more tracks per disc and translates into more capacity than a CD.  The common single layer DVD holds 4.5 GB of data, while a CD holds a mere 700 MB..

A DVD has smaller pits and the lasers need to focus on them so the physical make up of a CD is slightly different to a DVD.  The DVD has a thinner plastic substrate than a CD making it easier for the laser to pass through and get reflected back.

DVDs will access data at a much faster rate than a CD can.  The difference in speed is massive with a 52X CD drive reading data at 8Mb a second and a DVD 24X drive reading data at 32MB second.

DVD’s are currently the format of choice for many consumers these days but expect them to get taken over by Blu-Ray discs in the next few years. CDs will be available for a while yet but as Blu-Ray prices come down and storage needs continually spiral upwards I can’t see them lasting forever.
